Crisis Center Office Warming Brunch

Crisis Center staff and volunteers came together in-person for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic to celebrate the Crisis Center office move and program changes.

It’s been a big year of change for the Crisis Center! In early 2021, we expanded our Teen Crisis Services to offer a text line, debuted a new website, and took our services completely remote in response to COVID-19. We also renewed our accreditation with the American Associated of Suicidology, moved offices, and updated our database and phone systems.

We were excited to have the chance for staff and volunteers to come together to celebrate these exciting changes and the many more to come!

Attendees took a short tour of the new office space and then gathered at a park for socially distanced brunch refreshments and a collaborative art project facilitated by Volunteer and Training Coordinator, Taylor Coutts.

As this was the first in-person social event in a long time, staff and volunteers were excited to reconnect outside of a Zoom screen. Some staff and volunteers joined the team while the program was fully remote and met in person for the first time. Program Manager, Zena Andreani, and Crisis Intervention Services Coordinator, Allie Rogge, were also in attendance.

Longtime supporter and funder of the Crisis Center, SolMateo, wrote heartwarming notes of appreciation for hotline workers, which were distributed at the event for those who attended.

Thank you, SolMateo members, for your words of encouragement!

The collaborative art piece now hangs proudly in the new Crisis Center hotline office, a reminder that no matter what you are going through, you aren’t alone.
