What is a mental health crisis? 

It is when someone is going through a tough time and struggling to cope with their emotions and thoughts. They may have mixed feelings, such as sadness, anxious, or overwhelmed. What may have helped them cope in the past, no longer works and are unable handle it on their own. It's important to get help from a trusted adult or mental health professional if you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis. 

What is suicidal ideation? 

It is when someone thinks about harming themselves or are considering killing themselves. If you or someone you care about is making threats to harm or kill themselves, call 988 or StarVista 24/7 Hotline at (650) 579 – 0350. 

What should I do during a crisis? 

If you are feeling like hurting yourself or ending your life, it is very important to tell someone you trust how you are feeling or call the StarVista 24/7 Hotline (650) 579 - 0350. You can also find someone in your support network. This could be family, friend, co-worker, even a neighbor. They may be able to help you locate services. 

In an emergency requiring an immediate response, please call 911.
