StarVista’s websites and social media pages are intended for informational purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for professional mental health advice or treatment.  People who utilize StarVista’s Crisis Center services or any 988 service are not required to provide any personal information to receive services. Both the StarVista Crisis Center and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recognize the importance and the expectation of privacy when a person contacts crisis services, including 988.

Any effort to obtain demographic information from those who use the StarVitsa Crisis Center and 988 Lifeline services will serve three primary purposes:

  • To save lives

  • To connect people to ongoing support

  • To evaluate system needs and performance, particularly ensuring that gaps and inequities are being addressed.

The information you provide will be used for the purpose specified. 

  1. Personal information will be stored securely and will not be shared with any third parties without your explicit consent unless required by law. 

  2. You have the right to request access to your personal information as well as the right to request correction of any inaccurate information. 

  3. While we take precautions to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted over the Internet and you acknowledge the inherent risks involved in submitting information online. 

  4. You have the right to withdraw your consent for the use of your information at any time. To do so please contact us to submit this request.

Social Media Engagement Policy

StarVista encourages engagement with our agency through our various social media channels. When engaging, please remember that most comments and interactions with our public social media pages will also be public facing. We caution you against posting any identifiable protected health information. The opinions and comments posted by others on our various social media channels are not the opinions of StarVista or the StarVista Crisis Center. We reserve the right to edit or delete interactions as needed when deemed necessary or offensive.

Website and Direct Message Engagement

When sending us an e-mail or direct message via our Contact Forms, your identity and the contents of your message will remain confidential meaning that:
  • Your infomation will not be shared with outside entities*
  • We do not create individual profiles with the e-mail information you provide or give it to any other organizations*
  • Your e-mail address will not be provided to any third party or used for any electronic mailing lists without your consent
  • We do not collect information for commercial marketing
The use we will make of your information is to:
  • Consider your suggestions.
  • Possibly respond directly to you for clarification
  • Try and answer your questions if you ask them
